Project Description:
Casa Horizonte is a single-family home project designed to integrate harmoniously with the natural surroundings of the sierra. The architectural proposal seeks to merge modernity with nature, creating a home that offers comfort, sustainability and a constant connection with the landscape.
The design is articulated around large glass windows that let in natural light and offer panoramic views of the mountain. The materials used, such as natural stone and wood, have been carefully selected to respect the environment and bring warmth to the spaces. The interior layout has been designed to maximise functionality, maintaining a perfect balance between private and communal areas.
Architectural Concept:
Casa Horizonte is characterised by clean architectural lines and geometric volumes that adapt to the unevenness of the terrain. The house is on two levels connected by a floating wooden staircase that enhances the feeling of lightness. The ground floor houses the social areas: living room, dining room and open-plan kitchen, which open onto a large terrace with infinity pool. The upper floor is dedicated to the bedrooms, all with access to private balconies and views of the surroundings.
Sustainability and Energy Efficiency:
The project has been conceived under strict sustainability criteria. Highly efficient thermal insulation systems, aluminium carpentry with thermal bridge break and solar control glass have been implemented. The orientation of the house allows optimal use of sunlight throughout the year, reducing energy consumption. It also has solar panels for self-consumption and a rainwater collection system for irrigation.
Materials and Finishes:
- Natural stone façade and treated wood cladding.
- Microcement floors in common areas and natural wood in bedrooms.
- Black anodised aluminium joinery with double glazing.
- Flat green roof that improves thermal insulation and blends in with the surroundings.
Landscaping:
The garden design has been developed to enhance the connection with the natural environment. Low water-consuming native species have been used that require minimal maintenance. The infinity pool blends visually with the horizon, creating an effect of continuity with the mountainous landscape.
Lighting:
The lighting, both interior and exterior, has been planned to highlight the architecture without altering the surroundings. Low consumption luminaires and home automation systems have been used to control the ambient lighting, adapting to different times of the day.
Final Result:
Casa Horizonte is an example of contemporary architecture that respects and dialogues with nature. Its modern design, combined with sustainable solutions and noble materials, offers a comfortable, efficient living space in perfect harmony with its surroundings.
